In this post, the Kensington at Chelmsford Blog is featuring a few of our favorite road trip tips and tricks. Get out of your Chelmsford, MA apartment and get out on the road this September. We hope that you have a wonderful month!
Pack your car with all sorts of snacks before you go on your road trip. Bring a cooler along on your trip and pack it up with bread, peanut butter, jelly, bagels, and more. We recommend trying to bring along food for your breakfasts and lunches so that you only spend money during dinner. Skip the fast food restaurants and look for the best local diners and cafes. For healthy snacks, try apple slices, granola, and popcorn. We love this recipe for the Ultimate Pumpkin Spice Granola from The Healthy Maven. You can make it with rolled oats, pecans, pumpkin seeds, cashews, pumpkin spice, sea salt, vanilla extract, pureed pumpkin, coconut oil, maple syrup, and an egg white.
Make a packing list before you go. Take inventory of the clothing you’ll need, the documents you need to bring, and don’t forget to pack a first aid kit. We recommend bringing copies of all the documents you need (including your license and registration) while you’re out on the road. If you’re traveling out of the country, don’t forget your passport. Go over your list twice before you go. If you’re planning on doing laundry while you’re out on the road, pack less so you’ll have more space in the car.
Remember to make sure your phone is charged while you’re on the road. For most people, their phone is their map. Buy a car charger so you’re never left without a map. Also, remember to bring a paper map. Your map is handy for those times you lose your signal or if your phone inadvertently dies.
